If you want to stream music from a PC to your Xbox you need to follow these instructions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-xp/help/windows-media-player/11/stream-xbox You also need to make sure the music on the PC is not set to Read-Only. Once this is done, Beat Hazard should find your PC and then read the music from it when you run the game.
Note: Don't use the Media Player on the xbox while using the game. The game should take care of playing the music for you.
Code 4 Crash
[Update] I've now added a 'Diagnostics mode' for Beat Hazard Ultra. Please try this by pressing 'X' from the Cold Beam Logo Screen. Email me with the results you get.
Some players are getting a code 4 error with Beat Hazard and Beat Hazard Ultra on XBLIG. This problem is related to players who have a PC connected to their Xbox and want to stream music from it.
Turning your PC off, restating your Xbox and re-running the game should fix the crash. However, this is not great if you want to play music from your PC, and I would like to fix the bug properly. I've never been able to repeat this problem myself, and from what I can tell, most players can steam music just fine in the game.
Please have a look at the following depending on the version you have:
Beat Hazard
Press 'X' On the Cold Beam Games loading screen. This will stop the game playing any music until you select a track. This seems to fix the problem for some people and indicates that it's some sort of timing issue. If this doesn't work for you, let me know.
Beat Hazard Ultra
If you hole both triggers down while the game is loading it should stop the game playing music. You should get to the 'Press Start' screen and the game should be quite. Let me know if this fixes your problem
If None of the Above Works
Can you contact me these details: - Which version of the game you have - Type of Xbox and storage devices (USB stick, HDD, Cloud) - Type of PC and OS - Approximate size of music collection on PC
Thanks.
[Update Aug 2013]
I've just submitted a new version with a step by step diagnostics mode that will hopefully track down the cause of this problem. It'll take 4-5 weeks in testing before it goes live.
